FPS and refresh interval calculator

Translate FPS and display refresh rate into milliseconds per frame and refresh interval.

This translates rates into intervals. It does not predict your PC’s FPS or measure input latency.

Method and limits

Formula: 1,000 ÷ FPS = milliseconds per frame. The same reciprocal calculation gives the refresh interval from Hz. A 60 FPS rate corresponds to 16.67 ms per frame; 120 FPS corresponds to 8.33 ms.

An average FPS value is not evidence that every frame took that interval. A frame-time trace is needed to describe spikes and consistency. Generated frames, rendering cadence and input sampling also should not be collapsed into one latency number.

Use the interval to understand a performance target or compare units in a review. It does not establish a frame cap, synchronization configuration or hardware purchase recommendation. The site’s separate PC FPS model remains unvalidated.
