Check the exact card’s dimensions against the case in its planned configuration. Length alone is not enough: cooler thickness, power-cable space and any front radiator can change the result.
Find the exact graphics card model
An RTX or Radeon chip name does not define the cooler fitted to the card. A compact two-fan model and a large three-fan version of the same chip can have different lengths, heights and occupied slots. Copy the complete manufacturer model number from the retailer before comparing measurements.
Write down the card length, overall height and thickness. If the listing gives only a slot count, look for the manufacturer’s dimensional drawing. A nominal slot designation is less useful than millimeters when a neighboring expansion card or case bracket occupies the remaining space.
Measure the case as you intend to use it
Start with the case manual, then account for the front cooling arrangement. A stated maximum GPU length can assume a particular fan configuration. A radiator installed in the same area reduces the usable length; a drive cage or pump can introduce another obstruction.
Fractal’s original North documentation provides a concrete example: it lists up to 355 mm with a front fan installed and 300 mm with a 360 mm front radiator. These figures describe that case and configuration, not every North-family case. Use the manual for the exact enclosure you are buying.
Leave room at the side panel
The power connector often sits on the top edge of the graphics card, toward the side panel. The card body may fit while the cable has insufficient space. Check the connector and cable maker’s insertion and bend-clearance instructions, including any requirements for an adapter.
Do not force the side panel against a cable or treat an angled adapter as an automatic solution. Verify the adapter’s compatibility and its clearance requirements independently. A useful planning sketch includes the card and the cable space around it.

Check the slots and the installation route
Check which motherboard slot you will use and what sits below it. A thick cooler may cover another slot or approach the bottom of the case. A vertical mount changes the geometry and can place the fans close to glass; it may also require a compatible riser cable.
Consider how the card enters the case. An opening, bracket or cooling tube can make installation awkward even if the final position appears large enough. Manufacturer manuals and build videos are valuable for seeing those practical steps.
Use a preview as a second check

Before ordering, keep a short checklist: exact SKU, available length, occupied slots, side-panel cable room and cooling configuration. If one measurement is missing, ask the manufacturer or retailer to confirm it rather than relying on a photograph.
