Minecraft Java requirements: edition, settings and evidence

Requirements and measurements answer different questions.

Official requirement context

Mojang’s July 21, 2026 update specifies Vulkan 1.3-capable graphics and a four-core minimum processor. The minimum memory is 8 GB with a discrete GPU or 12 GB with integrated graphics; recommended memory is 16 GB. The publisher describes 1080p Fast at 30 FPS and 1080p Fancy at 60 FPS as requirement targets, not measurements of this site’s selected PC. Verify the current exact table and game version at the official source.

Build your own comparable observation

  1. Record the exact game version, hardware, resolution, preset, rendering mode and driver.
  2. Choose a scene you can repeat. Record whether it includes multiplayer variability, a busy world, mods or a server.
  3. Capture a baseline before changing one setting. Keep the capture method and scene the same on the next run.
  4. Use repeated observations to decide whether the issue concerns frame delivery, memory/capacity or a setting. A requirements match alone does not prove your target frame rate.

Available benchmark evidence
